December 2nd - Ushuaia to London

We are leaving today after a wonderful trip. It has been great to stay in Ushuaia again after we enjoyed it so much in 2001. We wonder how everyone is doing on Prince Albert II.

We flew from Ushuaia airport to El Calafate and then on to Buenos Aires. The flights were not bad, but the landings left a lot to be desired. The pilot seemed to leave it till the last minute. We were met at Buenos Aires by Raquel, our guide, who escorted us to the correct terminal.

We had hours to kill before our Iberia flight at 11.40pm. We met Emily and Jim from the ship and had a glass of wine with them. Then we amused ourselves shopping and going into the Club Lounge, where we saw Eileen and Robin McDonald and had a long chat to them. The time passed quite quickly, but then we discovered that the plane was delayed.

We finally boarded after midnight and were much too tired for dinner. The seats were fairly comfortable, although not "lie-flat", but we could only doze on and off as there was terrible turbulence. As we were late landing in Madrid, we had a mad dash to the next terminal for our connecting flight to London. It was very hectic and we were concerned about them transferring our luggage from one flight to another, but we need not have worried - this flight was also delayed!

We arrived home at 9pm after 36 hours travelling. Our first-ever cruise had come to an end. It exceeded our expectations from beginning to end.
